An emergency veterinarian for 9 years Adrian has worked in ECC practices up and down the east cost of Australia. In 2012 he was involved in establishing Eastside Veterinary Emergency & Specialists. This is a boutique practice in the inner suburbs of Sydney, Australia. Here he holds the position of Practice Manager and has helped grow the practice from an emergency only practice to one that currently provides emergency & specialist medicine and surgical services.

Akif Demirel, graduated from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Istanbul University in 1982. In 1988, he went to Canada with his wife, Filiz, where he obtained professional accreditation working at Willowdale Animal Hospital. Later he was given the title of Veterinary Medicine in the United States. Currently Akif is owner of Istanbul Veterinary Polyclinic, Advisory board member of Veterinary Anesthesia and Analgesia Support Group – U.S.A, Founder of the Clinician Veterinary Medical Association and WSAVA representative of Clinician Veterinary Medical Association.

Dr. Belinda Haebich


Dr Belinda Haebich (BVSc) graduated from Sydney University in 2002 and has practiced as a small animal veterinarian in the UK and Australia. She began working at the Newtown Veterinary Clinic (Victoria Australia) as an Associate Veterinarian in 2008, and became a Director in 2011. Dr Haebich is currently a member of the Vetcentric Veterinary Advisory Board. Her clinical interests lean toward Animal Behaviour and Feline Medicine. She is also Newtown Veterinary Clinic’s self-proclaimed “IT nerd”. Belinda shares her home with two cross-breed dogs and the household is overseen by two feline overlords!

Dr Robinson is a former US Navy sailor who pursued his education and ultimately his veterinary career after his honorable discharge. He is a very big proponent of efficiency in the workplace and works to improve this every day. Dr Robinson currently serves as Chief of Staff for the Banfield Pet Hospital in Rockwall, Tx, USA. His interests include exotic animal medicine, orthopedic surgery, and unique soft tissue surgeries. Dr Robinson is also a competitive Highland Bagpiper and plays for the North Texas Caledonian Pipes and Drums, a Grade 4 competition band in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.

Blokhin Cancer Research Center, Russian Academy of Medical Sciences as a PhD student (field of study - oncoimmunology). Since 2008 worked in ChemDiv Inc. in the field of drug discovery and pre-clinic development. Currently works in clinical trials in F.Hoffmann-La Roche Ltd, Switzerland.

Eric Kancar is a Licensed Veterinary Technician at the Orchard Park Veterinary Medical Center in Orchard Park, NY (a suburb of Buffalo, NY) where he has worked since 2002. He has been the Patient Care Director there since 2006. OPVMC is a 24/7 primary care, specialty referral and emergency hospital with a long standing excellent reputation. He is lucky to work with an incredible group of people who provide the best veterinary care in Western New York.

Outside of work, Eric enjoys making memories with his wife and young son. He is creative at heart: an artist, photographer, musician, landscape designer, interior designer, gardener and hobby farmer. Eric also enjoys the perpetual job that is remodeling, fixing and interior designing their house which is a hobby farm on 3.5 acres of land.

Dr. Zakharenkov spent last 7 years working in Emergency Hospitals across Canada and is currently an Emergency Veterinarian at Huronia Veterinary Emergency Hospital located in Barrie, Ontario, Canada. His professional interests include companion animal internal medicine, diagnostic imaging, critical care and emergency medicine.

She completed a small animal internship at Alameda East Veterinary Hospital in Denver, Colorado and fulfilled her internal medicine residency requirements at The Ohio State University. She became board certified in small animal internal medicine in 2001. She has been with Southern Colorado Veterinary Internal Medicine ( since 2001.

Prior to being an emergency technician she worked in a small animal house call practice in Halton Hills. She also locums at various clinics in Durham region as well as teaches Animal Restraint to Veterinary Students at Durham College. She enjoys teaching students, but her true passion is emergency medicine. She has 2 loving cats and a mixed breed dog named Widget who is her shadow.

Tanis Mahahan RVT with 33 years experience both on the floor, then administratively. Worked at Ontario Veterinary College, and then worked for and managed a large group of hospitals in Toronto for 25 years, and have been at the Animal Emergency Clinic for 2 years - she started her career at the original emergency clinic in Toronto and have come full circle back into emergency to finish her career. She is always looking for innovative ways to enhance her working experience and to improve upon patient and client care.
